About
Description: Our Backup Power Relay Protection course focuses on detailed technical solutions for the protection of uninterruptible power supply (UPS), battery backup and power backup systems as well as typical relay protection systems. Learn about the development of the relay protection system using EasyPower and ETAP software. Practice using differential protection, instantaneous overcurrent protection, time overcurrent protection and ground fault protection. The following system is recommended but not a necessity: • CPU 3th generation i5/i7 or better • Operating System Windows 7/10 64 bit • Minimum 50GB of free Hard drive space • Memory 8GB RAM • Internet Connection Learning Outcome: After successfully completing the Substation Course the student will be able to: • Model an electrical system and select the proper digital relays from a manufacturer • Perform protection coordination for the UPS; Battery; Backup Generator System • Create a Protection Relay Setting Sheet • Implement backup protection as required for the large Backup Generator Systems • Coordinate the UPS, Battery & Power Backup Systems, and typical Relay Protections with the feeder and the load protection • Develop ground fault protection study for the Electrical UPS, Battery & Power Backup Systems, and typical Relay Protections • Perform Transient Study for Starting Electrical Motor powered from a backup power system, UPS or Power Generator • Perform Harmonic Study and calibrate filters for elimination of harmonics • Perform Resonance Study using ETAP Who should attend: The Backup Power Relay Protection course is dedicated but not limited to the following qualified individuals: • Electrical Power Engineer • Licensed Electricians • Managers that must understand the Power Systems of the Substations • Electrical Safety Inspectors • Any other individuals who are interested in this subject
